Report suggests that the Detroit Lions are likely to be without star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh "at least" the next two games.

As the Detroit Lions look to stay alive in the post-season hunt, they'll have to manage at least a few games without their best defensive player.

According to an ESPN report, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is rumored to be facing "at least" a two game suspension after stomping the arm of Green Bay offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith during Detroit's Thanksgiving Day game loss to the Packers.

The report also suggests Suh might be required to attend "anger management" courses.

A final ruling on Suh's punishment is expected by Tuesday.

A multi-game ban might seem harsh considering a similar situation involving the Vikings' Brian Robinson and Green Bay's T.J. Lang occurred earlier in the season without league intervention. But given Suh's history (he's been fined three times in his brief career), the NFL has evidently had enough of the antics.

Detroit (7-4) travels to New Orleans next Sunday, where they'll face another formidable signal caller in veteran Drew Brees. With five games remaining, the team cannot afford many more losses if it expects to secure the franchise's first playoff appearance in over 10 years.

In just his second season after a banner rookie campaign, Suh wasn't entirely remorseful following Thursday's game, although he offered another apology via his Facebook page on Friday, stating, "My reaction ... was unacceptable. I made a mistake, and have learned from it." Suh's apology only came after the team condemned his behavior via a press release.

Suh seemed to refrain from apologizing directly to Dietrich-Smith. If he did, he didn't do it publicly.
