OG Terrence Metcalf: Lions Sign Former Bears Guard

Immediately following the signing of Dane Looker, the Detroit Lions also picked up former Bears' third-round pick and mammoth guard Terrence Metcalf on Monday.

The 31-year old Metcalf was an unrestricted free-agent, despite spending the previous seven years with the Bears.

A part-time starter, the former Ole Miss standout was suspended four games in 2008 after violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances, and the Bears released him in March.

Detroit waived OT Kirk Barton to make room for Metcalf on the roster.
