Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford practiced fully in Tuesday's practice at the team's Allen Park training facilities, including the media-allowed portion.

Tom Kowalski of Booth Newspapers and John Niyo of the Detroit News both reported the news.

It was the first time Stafford has participated in a complete practice since injuring his knee at Chicago three weeks ago.

The news comes less than 24 hours after the ProFootballTalk web site cited ESPN's Chris Mortsensen as stating that Stafford's injury might be more serious, potentially sidelining the former top pick most of the season.

It was the second report from ESPN (via Mortensen) regarding Stafford's injury that hasn't been corroborated -- and, in some instances, refuted by the evidence altogether.

Receiver Calvin Johnson returned along with a number of players, but had a relatively light practice.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz had said previously that the team wanted to test Stafford's knee to see how it responded to a practice regimine.
